Telecom operator Reliance Communications today announced free data plan for its pre-paid mobile customers.

The launch of Reliance Jio with its free 4G data and voice offers till 31 December 2016 is forcing rival telecom network operators to come out with innovative schemes. The strategy of Reliance Communications is to retain its existing pre-paid customer base, while adding new customers with innovative data plans.

Reliance Communications said its DoubleScoop Plans for new prepaid customers offers full talktime and free data for six months. From January onwards, data offers from Reliance Jio will not be free, but it offers free voice services for life-time.

Customers of Reliance Communications will get full talktime, free data and a special calling rate of 25 paise per minute with the DoubleScoop Plan. Currently, most of the voice rate f rival telecoms is around 60 paise per minute.

Reliance Communications said that the 2G DoubleScoop Plan in Delhi & NCR starts from Rs 141 recharge which gives Rs 141 talktime and 5 GB of data usage, along with 25 paise per minute call rates for a period of 3 months.

NonStop Prepaid Plan for existing customers gives 1,000 minutes of local and STD calls along with unlimited all India Reliance-to-Reliance calls free for Rs 153.

The scheme is available in Delhi NCR.

Customer can dial USSD *129# to know the validity of their plan.

Reliance Communications also said its 3G mobile plans start from Rs 295 recharge offering Rs 295 in talktime and 3GB of 3G data usage, along with a 25 paise per minute calling rate for 3 months.

The DoubleScoop Rs 496 Plan on 3G network offers Rs 496 in talktime and 10GB of data usage, along with 25 paise per minute calling rates for 3 months.

Reliance Communications said its pre-paid mobile customer can also do repeat recharges on the DoubleScoop Plan.
