4G data usage in India

4G data growth in India Q3 2017The number of mobile Internet users on 2G, 3G and 4G platforms in India fell to 407.67 million in September from 409.28 million in June quarter of 2017, according to the recent TRAI report.

About 34.46 percent of the total mobile subscribers used data services in Q3 2017.

TRAI said the total wireless data usage was 5,430,046 terabytes. Out of which, 2G data usage was 110,430 terabytes, 3G data usage was 950,569 terabyte, 4G data usage was 4,356,202 terabytes and CDMA data usage was 12,845 terabytes.

The contribution of 3G data usage in total data usage was about 18 percent. The contribution of 4G data usage was 80 percent.

Wireless data usage per subscriber per month over the total wireless subscribers is 1,600 MB during the quarter.

Bharti Airtel has 94.30 million mobile Internet users on its 2G, 3G and 4G network.

Vodafone India has 67.71 million mobile Internet users.

Idea Cellular has 38.20 million mobile Internet users.

BSNL has 32.15 million mobile Internet users.

Aircel has 16.22 million mobile Internet users.

Reliance Communications has 16.21 million mobile Internet users.

Tata Docomo has 9 million mobile Internet users.

The wireless subscriber base of Bharti Airtel was 282.05 million, followed by Vodafone with 207.44 million, Idea Cellular 190.16 million, Reliance Jio 138.62 million, BSNL 105.81 million, Aircel 88.75 million, Reliance Communications 72.16 million, Telenor 46.01 million, Tata Docomo 44.92 million and MTNL 3.61 million.
