Airtel brings two new Android 4G smartphones with Karbonn

airtel-4g-in-rural-indiaIndia-based telecom operator Airtel has added two new Android 4G smartphones in partnership with Karbonn Mobiles.

The effective price of A1 Indian 4G smartphone is Rs 1,799 as compared to MRP of Rs 4,390. The effective price of A41 Power 4G smartphone is Rs 1,849 as compared to MRP of Rs 4,290.

Both 4G smartphones feature a full touch 4” screen, 1 GB RAM, dual SIM slots, dual camera along with a host of features.

The 4G smartphones, which are Google certified, run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS and offer full access to all apps on Google Play Store, including YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp. These 4G smartphones comes with MyAirtel App, Airtel TV and Wynk Music.

Airtel is offering a monthly pack of Rs 169 with both 4G smartphones.

Earlier, Airtel and Karbonn introduced the A40 Indian 4G smartphone to take on JioPhone. Media reports suggest that Reliance Jio did not receive enough response for the feature phone.

A40 Indian is already available on Amazon starting today, while A1 Indian and A41 Power will be available starting next week.

Pardeep Jain, MD of Karbonn Mobiles, said that the response assisted the phone company to add 70 percent new feature phone users to existing portfolio.

4G customers need to make a down payment of Rs 3,299 for A1 Indian and Rs 3349 for buying A41 Power 4G smartphones. In addition, customers need to make 36 continuous monthly recharges of Rs 169 pack from Airtel. The customer will get a cash refund of Rs 500 after 18 months and another Rs 1000 after 36 months, taking the total cash benefit to Rs 1,500.
