Idea 4G targets 18 towns in Bihar and Jharkhand by June 2017

Idea 4G and subscribersTelecom operator Idea Cellular today said its 4G coverage will be expanded to 18 towns in Bihar and Jharkhand by June 2017.

Idea Cellular said the 18 towns will include Patna, Ranchi, Gaya, Sasaram, Motihari, Dhanbad and Bokaro.

Idea Cellular, which launched 4G services in Muzaffarpur today, plans to expand its 4G network to cover 5 towns before March 31, 2017.

Idea Cellular has over 1.25 crore customers in Bihar and Jharkhand circle. Idea Cellular, an Aditya Birla group company, is one of the few telecom operators with 2G, 3G and 4G networks.

“Idea has consistently invested in network expansion to become a pan-India wireless broadband operator, readying our 200 million customers for the Digital era,” said Anish Roy, COO – Corporate, Idea Cellular.

Over the last one year, Idea Cellular has more than doubled its mobile broadband network on 4G / 3G platform, and now covers over 50 percent of India’s population.

Idea’s mobile broadband data services are currently available to nearly 500 million Indians across nearly 100,000 towns and villages.

“Idea will expand its digital offerings into digital communication, digital payments, cloud & storage, digital information and many more,” said Monishi Ghosh, chief operating officer, Bihar & Jharkhand, Idea Cellular.
