On Tuesday, Bharti Airtel announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE services in Himachal Pradesh starting with Shimla.

“With the help of the feedback received from the beta launches, we have now built India’s first commercial 4G network,” said Manu Sood, Hub CEO – Upper North, Bharti Airtel.

RJIL has 2300MHz spectrum across the country and 800MHz or 1800MHz or both in 20 out of total 22 circles in the country. JIO is present in all of the 29 states of India, with a direct physical presence in nearly 18,000 cities and towns.

Reliance Jio Infocomm has deployed a network of nearly 250,000 route kilometres of fiber optics for its digital backbone across India. Over the next 3 years, JIO will more than double this fiber coverage by deploying fiber optics in the last mile.

By April next year, Jio would have connected over 1 million homes via fiber with a capability of rapidly scaling up in the top 50 cities of India.

The Mukesh Ambani promoted company has an initial capacity to serve in excess of 100 million wireless broadband and 20 million Fibre-to-the-Home customers, with capability to easily expand further as the business scales up.
