Sprint offers 50% off on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile rate plans

In a bid to enhance its subscriber base, Sprint today announced 50 percent off the price of most Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile rate plans.

The wireless operator is also guaranteeing the savings till 2018. Sprint is the fourth largest telecom operator in the U.S. The investment support from SoftBank did not assist Sprint to leapfrog in terms of subscriber additions though it showed improvement in the recent quarter.

Sprint, a telecom operator owned by SoftBank of Japan, is also ready to pay up to $650 to users who switch from rivals.

The special rate is part of the celebration of LTE Plus network. Sprint says LTE Plus network is the fastest 4G network in the U.S.

LTE Plus network of Sprint is available in 77 markets.

To reward existing customers for their loyalty, Sprint is offering a free tablet woth $360 with one year of free service with a two-year contract.

Sprint explained how it is taking on all the three rivals.

T-Mobile US offers 10GB for $80 per month. T-Mobile customers switching to Sprint can get unlimited talk and text with the same amount of data for $40 per month.

A family paying $100 for 15GB at AT&T can get the same amount of data for $50 if they switch to Sprint. Customers also save 50 percent on the access fee.

Verizon customers paying $80 for 12GB of data will pay $40 for 12GB if they switch to Sprint, and they will save 50 percent on the access fee.

Marcelo Claure, Sprint CEO, said customers switching to Sprint will never need to look elsewhere. “They will learn what our 58 million customers already know – Sprint offers the best value and an award-winning network.”
