TRAI says Jio’s free 4G offers meet telecom industry regulation

mobile-broadband-and-big-dataTelecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) states that Reliance Jio Infocomm’s 4G tariff plans are fully compliant with regulatory norms of IUC compliance, non-predatory and non-discriminatory.

“This establishes the fact that all the tariffs offered by RJIL are in compliance with the prevailing regulations. A key feature of RJIL’s tariff packs is free voice calling for Local, STD and National roaming for all times,” said Reliance Jio in a statement.

Reliance Jio Infocomm today said it has received communication from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) stating that the tariff plans offered by it are fully compliant with regulatory norms of IUC compliance, non-predatory and non-discriminatory.

As per RJIL’s filing with the TRAI, the Jio welcome offer will be available to all the customers for subscription till 3rd December 2016. Benefits of free unlimited voice and data will continue to be available to all subscribers till 31st December 2016.

The consumers, who cannot subscribe to the Jio services till 3rd December 2016 will continue getting opportunities to avail new offers and tariff plans.

Jio will continue coming up with more consumer friendly offers and plans to enhance the consumer experience.

As part of the Jio Welcome Offer, users have access to unlimited LTE data and national voice, video and messaging services along with Jio applications and content, free of cost up to 31 December 2016.

All the Jio applications, including JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, JioMagazine, JioNews, which bouquet is worth Rs 15,000 for an annual subscription, have been provided complimentary for all active Jio subscribers up to 31 December 2017.

Jio has redesigned the Jio sign-up experience and made it 100% digital using an Aadhaar based eKYC process. The company has introduced Aadhaar-based paper-less activation across 4,100 cities and towns.
