Vodacom selects The Now Factory to measure data network performance for 31 million users

Telecom Lead Africa: Vodacom has selected The Now Factory for its Mobile Moments Vantage solution.

The solution will be used to accurately measure the performance of its data network in real time and optimize the customer experience for its 31 million subscribers.

The South Africa-based telecom player will deploy Mobile Moments Vantage across Vodacom’s 3G and LTE networks. The solution will assist the mobile service provider as it is designed to provide a granular measurement of the customer experience. It considers the impact that individual applications, devices and service types have on data throughput and network performance.

“Measuring and verifying performance across the mobile data network is becoming more challenging for operators given the complex mix of smart devices and services that customers are using across different locations,” said Tom Morrisroe, chief executive officer, The Now Factory.

The Now Factory said Mobile Moments Vantage offers real-time insights into all aspects of the customer experience, including applications, devices and the network.

“Delivering an optimal Quality of Experience (QoE) to our customers is of key importance for us as we look to build on our market position as the leading provider of mobile broadband services in South Africa. Partnering with The Now Factory will help us to manage the QoE our customers receive when accessing the diverse range of mobile data services that we offer,” said Johan Engelbrecht, chief network officer, Vodacom.

Recently, TelecomLead.com said the Vodacom Group has emphasized the need to improve infrastructure as it lays the foundation to improve service quality. In its first full year under the new brand, the group’s international operations delivered a solid performance while the company stated its intent to finally dispose of its Gateway carrier business.
