NOVA deploys Huawei LampSite solution in Korinn stadium

Iceland’s mobile operator NOVA has deployed Huawei LampSite solution in Korinn stadium, Kopavogur.

The Chinese telecom network vendor said this is the world’s first commercial LampSite network deployment conducted for an indoor stadium.

The deployment provided mobile broadband experiences to 18,000 audiences at the Justin Timberlake world tour concert. The data traffic density accumulated at this event proved to be 15 times more than that accumulated at Reykjavik biggest shopping mall at a busy hour.

Huawei LampSite indoor MBB solution addresses indoor network coverage and capacity problems for different scenarios, providing improved mobile broadband user experience.

Compared with traditional Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Huawei LampSite offers easy deployment, upgrade scalability and technology evolution adaptation.

Huawei said the LampSite supports multi-band, multi-mode, carrier aggregation (CA), MIMO technologies, and can provide higher spectrum efficiency and a seamless user experience both indoors and outdoors.

Joakim Reynisson, chief technology officer, NOVA, said: “Huawei’s LampSite indoor coverage solution is really impressive with fast deployment to provide end users with stable and superior mobile broadband experiences.”

Huawei has deployed LampSite in many countries globally including Norway, the UK, Spain, Thailand and China.
