Vodafone users get free 1GB Wi-Fi at IGI Airport, Delhi

Vodafone LTE networkDelhi International Airport has tapped Vodafone to offer Wi-Fi services at both terminals of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi.

DIALs will be adding more telecom network operators to ensure that travellers who use IGI Airport in New Delhi will get better customer experience. DIAL has just completed a major revamp of the airport in 37 months.

Fliers, who use Vodafone’s pre-paid or post-paid mobile services, can enjoy free Wi-Fi facilities at both terminals of the airport.

Vodafone customers going in for a 1GB and 2GB, 3G or 4G pack or recharge, will get 1GB free Wi-Fi which can be used at India’s largest Wi-Fi zone at the IGI airport or any other Wi-Fi zone powered by Vodafone India. The free 1GB Wi-Fi offer is also applicable on Vodafone U recharges of 1GB and above.

DIAL has enabled mobile data offload service platform at the airport that promises to make internet access on mobile devices both fast and simple.

“Wi-Fi is an effective technology to provide seamless connectivity to a large group of consumers in a defined space. Over one lakh inbound and outbound travellers use the IGI Airport each day. Flying in and out of Delhi, will be more fun for Vodafone customers who can enjoy free 1GB Wi-Fi,” said Sandeep Kataria, director – Commercial, Vodafone India.

Travellers using Vodafone mobile services need to click once on the Wi-Fi connect option in the My Vodafone Application for seamless connectivity.

Vodafone mobile customers wanting to connect to Wi-Fi using laptops or tablets need to select VodafoneWiFi from the list of available networks and login by generating an OTP.

Vodafone India, the second largest telecom operator in the country, is also planning to set up information booths, kiosks and promoters at the domestic and international terminals of Indira Gandhi International Airport, to help travellers access Vodafone Wi-Fi.
