Comcast Cable call center in Hudson to hire 100 new resources this year

Comcast Cable on Friday opened its new customer support center in Hudson, New Hampshire, and said it would hire 100 new resources before year-end.

The new customer support center, which will hold approximately 600 people, is part of Comcast Cable strategy to provide better customer experience,

Comcast said it is planning to have 200 employees at this facility by the end of the year from more than 100 employees at present.

With the new positions, Comcast will have more than 1,700 employees across the state, and more than 5,000 across its Greater Boston footprint.

Comcast has 12 offices in the Granite State in communities such as Concord, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth and Salem.

Comcast’s employee investment, including payroll, payroll taxes, benefits, healthcare, training and tuition reimbursement, was more than $150 million last year. This apart, Comcast contributed nearly $2 million in community investment across the Granite State.

Employees at the call center provide support for Comcast residential products and services, handling calls from across the Greater Boston Region, which serves 1.6 million customers in New Hampshire, Maine, Eastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands.

“The Hudson call center is equipped with the latest IT technologies designed to help improve our customers’ experiences,” said Steve Hackley, senior vice president of Comcast’s Greater Boston Region.

The new 127,000 square-foot, 600-seat facility is located at 55 Executive Drive. Ongoing renovations at the facility will allow for further employee growth in 2015.
