Telecom Lead Asia: Satellite equipment provider Newtec, in association with its Bangalore-based partner NTA, has set up customer care center in India.

The center will address needs of Indian customers. “The new center is in line with the company’s expansion plans in India,” Sathish Amara, country manager – India and SAARC, Newtec, told TelecomLead.com.

The center in Bangalore will have manpower trained by Newtec.

Headquartered in Belgium, Newtec has regional offices as well as additional R&D centers located in Stamford, Conn. (U.S.), Singapore (Singapore), Beijing (China), Dubai (UAE), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Berlin (Germany) and France.

As part of its India expansion, Newtec launched a new modem portfolio for all speeds and applications to the Indian market and exhibited the Newtec M6100 Broadcast Modulator which comes with Carrier ID built in.

Newtec is also expanding the number of its partners in India. The company will focus on all regions and partners will be selected based on their strengths in four main regions in India.

Recently, Newtec said the adoption of new Extensions to the DVB-S2 standard will translate into better efficiency, higher speed and improved service robustness. Its new technologies will form the basis for extensions to DVB-S2. These extensions have the potential for 15 percent to 37 percent improvements on top of the current standards.

“Our latest product releases meet and already exceed the current DVB-S2 standards and include technology that will be capable of meeting the standards soon to be set for S2 Extensions,” Amara added.

Newtec’s M6100 Broadcast Satellite Modulator is its latest next generation DVB-S2, DVB-DSNG and DVB-S modulator range designed for multimedia contribution, broadcast direct-to-home and primary distribution to cable head-ends and towers. The M6100 comes with Carrier ID built in to mitigate interference which is becoming broadcasters’ public enemy number one.
