Apple to bring IBM big data and analytics capabilities to iPhone and iPad

Devices vendor Apple today said it will bring IBM’s big data and analytics capabilities to iPhone and iPad targeting the enterprise mobility segment.

This is an exclusive partnership between Apple and IBM.

The initiative will see the launch of more than 100 industry-specific enterprise solutions including native apps, developed exclusively for iPhone and iPad.

IBM cloud services will be optimized for iOS, including device management, security, analytics and mobile integration.

New AppleCare service and support offering tailored to the needs of the enterprise and packaged offerings from IBM for device activation, supply and management are also the highlight of the partnership announced today.

The two companies will create apps that can transform how businesses and employees work using iPhone and iPad, allowing companies to achieve new levels of efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction-faster and easier than ever before.

IBM will also sell iPhones and iPads with the industry-specific solutions to business clients.

Over 98 percent of the Fortune 500 and over 92 percent of the Global 500 using iOS devices in their business today.
