Harris and Sendmail team up to bring enterprise-grade messaging cloud

Sendmail, a provider of message processing appliances and
applications for enterprise messaging infrastructures, and Harris Corporation,
an international communications and information technology company, are jointly
developing and bringing to market an integrated email and messaging cloud
service for commercial enterprises and government organizations.

The service leverages the strength of the Sendmail
Sentrion Message Processing Platform, the Harris Trusted Enterprise Cloud and
the Harris Cyber Integration Center (CIC).

In the journey to the cloud, enterprises are increasingly
selecting email as one of the first applications due to its virtualized
architecture, need for scalability, and per seat deployment model.

However, enterprise email running on a public cloud may
not be able to meet the enterprise requirements for availability, security, and
performance. Harris and Sendmail have integrated enterprise-grade email and
cloud infrastructure to produce a service designed for mission critical
workflows.

“In today’s online world, when your email stops
working so does your business,” said Rich Plane, head of Solution
Development and Delivery, Harris Cyber Integrated Solutions.

“While it makes sense to run email in the cloud, it
is a mistake to run email in a cloud you can’t trust. The combination of
Sendmail with Harris’ Trusted Enterprise Cloud and Cyber Integration Center
delivers world-class email and messaging for commercial and government
organizations,” Plane added.

Sendmail provides enterprise email and messaging systems
that are currently being used by hundreds of thousands of enterprises around
the world including seven of the world’s largest financial services
organizations, three of the largest U.S. government agencies, the world’s
largest telecom and technology providers, and top Fortune 1000 companies.

The Sendmail Sentrion Messaging Processing Platform and
Message Processing Engine deliver an exceptional combination of site-specific
customization, scalability, policy-based routing, security, filtering, and
systems management.

Harris Trusted Enterprise Cloud is the
preeminent cloud hosting system available today combining patented trust
enablement technology, industry leading hardware and software, world-class
infrastructure, and operational excellence.

The Harris Cyber Integration Center is an innovative
cloud node that was designed from the ground up to offer technology and
services that meet the highest industry and government standards for
reliability and security.

Key differentiators in these offerings are the Global
Trust Repository and the Enterprise Trust Server, which provide continuous
monitoring, assurance, and attestation that the software and configurations in
the cloud environment are deployed and operating according to specification and
have not been compromised.

“Security, computer-generated email systems,
multiple encryption requirements, regulatory compliance, policy enforcement,
deep content scanning, data loss prevention and high-volume outbound mail are
but a few of the challenges enterprises face when moving email to the
cloud,” said Jim Seaman, vice president, Federal and Systems Integrators,
Sendmail.

“The joint Sendmail Harris messaging cloud system
provides a platform and a toolkit for enterprises to overcome these challenges
and deploy an email system they can trust,” added Seaman.

Harris and Sendmail have finalized system configurations
and on-boarding procedures for their cloud email service and are working with a
number of large commercial organizations and federal agencies on deployments.
