Newgen Alliance signs deal to manage ICT infrastructure of Gujarat International Financial Tec City
Telecom Lead India: Newgen Alliance has signed a 15 year deal to manage ICT infrastructure of Gujarat International Financial Tec City (GIFT).
Bhagwan D Khurana, chairman of Newgen Alliance, in a Linkedin message to TelecomLead.com, said a consortium led by Newegen Holdings has been selected as the preferred bidder for establishment, management & operations of information and communication technology infrastructure, services and platforms within Gujarat International Financial Tec City.
“We recently received the LoI,” Khurana told TelecomLead.com.
Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, under-construction city in Gujarat, will be built on 500 acres of land.
Communication infrastructure is vital for GIFT, conceptualized as a global financial and IT services hub.
GIFT aspires to catalyze India’s large financial services potential by offering to global and local financial services firms world-class infrastructure to tap the opportunity and better quality of life to attract top talent in the country.
GIFT will target a 6-8 percent share of the financial services potential in India. This would result in creation of 500,000 direct and an equal number. of indirect jobs requiring upto 91 million square feet of real estate office and residential space.
After constructing the 29-storied building — Gujarat’s tallest — in Shahpur village in Gandhinagar, GIFT has recently invited developers to build a club and a hotel in the non-SEZ area. The star hotel will have 300 rooms and will be built in phases over a period of five years.
