Siemens Enterprise to showcase healthcare solutions at HIMSS12

By Telecom
Lead Team:
Siemens Enterprise Communications will demonstrate its unified
communications (UC) technology and OpenScape Health Station at the Venetian
Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.

The unified
communications technology and OpenScape Health Station are designed to work
together to improve the patient experience, streamline clinical workflow, and
help healthcare organizations deliver better patient care.

The OpenScape Health
Station from Siemens Enterprise Communications provides
patients with easy access to games, movies, music, the Internet, a telephone
and educational videos at the beside.

Clinicians can
use the same device for adding beside documentation to any EMR platform, and it
can allow for single-sign on badge swipe and a barcode reader for medication
administration.

The OpenScape Health
Station’s integrated two-way video conferencing provides an entry point to
telemedicine and remote healthcare through video – a growing trend in
healthcare. These features can help hospitals improve their Hospital Consumer
Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores and remain
competitive.

The company
said that visitors can view demonstrations of the OpenScape Health Station
along with OpenScape Xpert, which can integrate communication for first
responders, OpenScape Contact Center, for providing proactive outreach for
patient appointment reminders or surveys.

The visitors
can also view demonstrations of Siemens’s UC solution, OpenScape Voice.
OpenScape Voice helps hospitals reduce CapEx and OpEx by seamlessly integrating
with existing data center infrastructure and providing the scalability,
resiliency and application integration that healthcare organizations require as
mobility becomes standard.

Last
month, Fortinet,
a network security provider, announced that Siemens Enterprise Communications
deployed multiple FortiGate-1240B network security appliances to help secure
its OpenScape Cloud Services.
