Top 10 telecom service providers in India based on revenue share in Q4

Telecom Lead India: Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, BSNL,
Reliance Communications, Tata, Aircel, Uninor, MTNL, Sistema Shyam, Loop,
Videocon and Quadrant Tele are the top telecom operators based on their revenue
market share in fourth quarter of 2011-12.

India’s main telecom operators’ gross revenue grew by 2
percent to Rs 38457.03 crore in March 2012 from Rs 37701.91 crore in December
2011.

Bharti grew its revenues from Rs 10487.65 crore to Rs 10565.79
crore, growing at 0.75 percent.

The second largest operator Vodafone increased its revenue from
Rs 7887.85 crore Rs 8204.11, registering a growth of 4.01 percent.

Idea Cellular’s revenue grew from Rs 5080.89 crore to Rs 5441.93
crore, up 7.11 percent.

Revenue of the state-run BSNL decreased from Rs 4166.73 crore
Rs 4029.49, registering -3.29 percent growth.

Reliance Communications is in fourth position. It revenue
dipped to Rs 3031.03 crore from Rs 2996.53, declining at -1.14 percent.

Tata’s revenue grew from Rs 3022.83 crore from Rs 3194.84 crore,
up 5.69 percent.

Indian telecom operators have reported 8.2 percent increase
in gross revenue of Rs 49242.99 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31,
2012 against Rs 45513.05 crore in the same quarter last year.

Access services contributed 78.10 percent of the total
revenue of telecom services. In Access services Gross Revenue & Spectrum
Charges increased by 2.00 percent & 1.45 percent respectively while AGR
& License Fee decreased by 0.11 percent and 0.24 percent respectively
during the quarter.

Monthly ARPU based on AGR for access services is Rs 97 for
the quarter ended March 2012.

The number of telephone subscribers in India increased from 926.53
million at the end of December 2011 to 951.34 million at the end of March 2012,
registering 2.68 percent growth over the previous quarter as against 2.16
percent during the December 2011.

This reflects year-on-year growth of 12.41 percent over the
same quarter of last year.

The overall Tele-density in India has reached 78.66 as on 31
March, 2012.
