Alcatel-Lucent signs OSS deal with Robi Axiata

Telecom network vendor Alcatel-Lucent announced its OSS software deal with Robi Axiata, a mobile telecom operator in Bangladesh.

Alcatel-Lucent said Robi Axiata is the first customer to deploy Motive OSS portfolio. Alcatel-Lucent in a statement said that its Motive OSS utilizes cloud technologies offering reduced costs and enhanced services by automating operations for telecom operators.

As per the OSS deal, Robi Axiata will deploy Motive Dynamic Operations platform at its data centers for centralized management and monitoring and to increase the mobile consumer experience by adding better view of network performance. Robi will deploy the solution during the second half of 2015.

Robi will deploy Alcatel-Lucent’s Motive Service and Unified Resource Engine (SURE), Motive Service Event Manager (SEM) and Motive Service Performance Manager (SPM) software products. Robi will also deploy incident, problem and change management and workforce management products from Alcatel-Lucent’s technology partners.

Alcatel-Lucent is providing a service assurance view that will enable Robi to ensure accurate network inventory management, correlation capability, and automated ticket management capability.

Srini Sundararajan, president of Alcatel-Lucent South Asia, said: “Alcatel-Lucent’s Motive Dynamic Operations platform will enable Robi to streamline its siloed systems onto a more automated and cost efficient operational framework, enhancing its ability to deliver future cloud services with a high level of performance and quality.”
