Elitecore signs 10 telecom operator deals for Wi-Fi offload

Telecom Lead @ Mobile World Congress 2013: WiFi offload vendor Elitecore Technologies has signed up with 10 Tier-1 service providers for its carrier-grade WiFi Service Management Platform (SMP).

Enabling data traffic offload from 2G-3.5G to WiFi — for telecom operators across India, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Bahrain — SMP assists SPs to offer improved quality of experience.

SMP deployments will also assist WiFi services providers to monetize by quick creation of new revenue streams.

Elitecore — announced at ongoing Mobile World Congress 2013 — says its WiFi SMP deployments cater for up to 50 million+ subscribers, 100,000+ hotspots.

The Gujarat, India-based IT firm for global telecom players — says it offers innovative use cases such as EAP SIM & Non EAP SIM authentication, Captive portal, Walk-in, SMS-based registration and on-demand, cellular-to-WiFi services, a recent event being Formula-1 racing tournament in India.

Nikhil Jain, COO & director, Elitecore Technologies, said: “With these 10 wins and over 17 ongoing POCs, in less than one year, Elitecore has gained a huge edge over other vendors in earning the mindshare of service providers across the WiFi market.”

Key drivers for the uptake of Elitecore WiFi SMP include rapid subscriber growth for 3G-3.5G, highest ARPU coming from data services and operator demand to improve subscriber experience with seamless WiFi access across many devices (Android, Blackberry, iPhone).

Meanwhile, Elitecore also announced its Mobile Data Offload (MDO) offering will be deployed by the largest telecommunications services company in Indonesia.

Elitecore will enable the provider’s partners to use WiFi Offload for their 3G, CDMA and DSL subscribers. Through creating seamless authentication between mobile/fixed accounts and Wifi hotspots, Elitecore MDO will enable the organisation to create additional revenue streams across mobile and fixed line services.

Catering to 660,000 users in Phase I, with over 1.3million expected in Phase II, the solution will complement the operator’s ongoing Wifi service, offering customers a higher quality mobile experience.

Dhaval Vora, VP, Product Management, Elitecore, said: “Our MDO platform gives operators a potential edge through quick, cost effective roll-outs, reduced 3G network congestion and a highly enhanced customer mobile experience.”
