Brightstar today announced the appointment of Emer Timmons as chief marketing officer and president of Strategic Sales.

Emer Timmons joins Brightstar from BT Group. Emer Timmons will be responsible for marketing for the device distribution company. In addition to marketing, Emer Timmons will lead Brightstar’s sales strategy and deals with carrier, retail and enterprise customers.

“Emer brings a wealth of global experience in the telecomm industry from her distinguished career, and she is the perfect fit to lead both our marketing and sales initiatives,” said Brightstar President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel.

Emer Timmons held several senior executive roles since joining BT in 2006. From 2010-2015, Emer Timmons led the BT Global Services’ UK business, including responsibility for corporate customers and accountability for a multi-billion UK & Global P&L.

From 2015-2016, Emer Timmons served as president of BT Group Strategic Deals and Customer Engagement responsible for delivering deals from £50 million to more than £1 billion.
