Huawei adopts Kineto’s Wi-Fi application on new Android smartphones

Kineto
Wireless announced it is working with Huawei to pre-load its Smart Wi-Fi
application onto select new Android-based Huaweismartphones
for a number of mobile service providers.

Kineto
works closely with Huawei and a number of leading smartphone manufacturers to
test, simplify and pre-load the Smart Wi-Fi Application.

Huawei
has received requests from a number of mobile service providers to make the
Smart Wi-Fi Application available on our newest Android smartphones. Kineto has
simplified the process of pre-loading the app onto Huawei smartphone platforms,
making it easier for us to address our customers’ needs,” said Kevin Tao,
president, Huawei West Europe.

With
Smart Wi-Fi, mobile service providers are able to offer their subscribers
improved indoor coverage using their existing Wi-Fi access points, encouraging
the use of Wi-Fi and driving mobile data offload. Operators deploying Smart
Wi-Fi have experienced a 25-40% reduction in churn from subscribers using the
service and have found Smart Wi-Fi users consume 20 percent less data from the
macro network.

Huawei
offers a wide range of smartphones based on the Android platform. According to
research firm Gartner, Android-based smartphones will account for 48.8 percent
of all smartphones sold in 2015.

“Huawei
has an innovative line of smartphones with the Android operating system. Their
devices, combined with the Smart Wi-Fi Application, provide a very compelling
experience for mobile consumers,” said Mark Powell, vice president and
co-founder of Kineto Wireless.
