Indus Towers to set up 500 nextgen cell sites in 50 cities

indus-towers-cell-sitesTelecom tower company Indus Towers today said it aims to set up 500 more next generation sites in 12 months in 50 cities.

Indus Towers has already deployed over 100 such sites across India in many cities including Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Meerut.

The next generation sites from Indus Tower will address the demand of mobile consumers to avoid the heavy cell sites on top of their homes or nearby commercial buildings.

Indus Towers has designed the next generation cell sites to maintain zero noise and visual pollution and require minimized site construction time. Indus Towers is offering new advanced sites in height variants of 3m to 30m. The latest telecom sites can withstand service loads and outdoor weather conditions.

The core structure of the tower or monopole is constructed from high tensile steel sections which is weather protected through hot dipped galvanization. Special architectural treatment is given to create heritage or contemporary aesthetics with different color schemes and exterior building material.

On the top, radio antennas are concealed with radio friendly camouflaging material. Telecom equipment is placed around the monopole in a perforated aesthetic equipment enclosure.

NextGen sites can merge well with the cityscape and location specific architecture and have 80-90 percent lower footprint and ensure diesel free power back-up.

Bimal Dayal, CEO of Indus Towers, said: “While deploying technologies in the telecom infrastructure domain, Indus Towers will build digital highways and play a pivotal role in the government’s focus areas such as Smart Cities and Digital India.”

The company has already converted over 55,000 sites into green sites. To make diesel free sites, the company installed Free Cooling Units (FCU), Natural Cooling Units + Turbo, Micro Cooling Unit, Solar power FCU and Solar PV leading to energy savings.

Indus Towers has presence in 15 telecom circles of India and has achieved over 275,449 tenancies till date. It has over 121,330 towers in the country.
