Telco Systems in pact with 6WIND to launch vRouter

NFVTime
Telco Systems has tied up with 6WIND to launch the first vRouter – NFVTime – enabling telecom operators to launch any new VNF service remotely at any time with zero touch, plug-and-play provisioning.

Telco Systems is a provider of SDN/NFV, CE 2.0, MPLS and IP solutions, while 6WIND is a networking software company.

The first vRouter on an open uCPE solution with support for both Intel x86 and Arm architectures will ensure cost effective technology solution for telecom operators.

The design of this new joint solution combines Telco Systems’ NFVTime solution with 6WIND’s Turbo Router. The joint solution will create an open and agile service delivery platform, allowing service providers to launch and remotely manage managed router services on a standalone basis or as part of service chains that include additional virtual network functions.

NFVTime, a carrier-class NFVi-OS running on white box appliances, includes VNFs such as SD-WAN, vRouter, vFirewall, vProbe, vSecurity and more, that are centrally managed and orchestrated from the network edge. Telecom operators can use NFVTime to launch any new VNF service remotely at any time with zero touch, plug-and-play provisioning.

6WIND Turbo Router, a network appliance deployed in bare metal environments or as a virtual machine, promises 12 million packets per second per core of routing performance. 6WIND Turbo Router provides the performance of hardware networking equipment with the ease of deployment and flexibility of software.

The solution from Telco Systems and 6WIND will run on both Intel x86 and Arm architectures. This solution gives service providers more flexibility and cost savings with high performance over low cost hardware, such as Intel ATOM and Arm/NXP devices.

“We are excited to demonstrate 6WIND Turbo Router in both x86 and Arm frameworks enabled by the unique 100 percent hardware agnostic architectural approach of Telco Systems’ NFVTime,” said Eric Carmes, founder and CEO of 6WIND.

NFVTime multiplies the value to VNF vendors and delivers important flexibility and cost effectiveness to service providers.

“More services on a smaller resource footprint in an open and flexible service delivery environment is a strong value proposition,” said Ariel Efrati, CEO of Telco Systems.

Telco Systems and 6WIND will be demonstrating this uCPE solution at the MEF17 event in Orlando, Florida on November 13-16 at Telco Systems’ booth – #607.
