Airtel matches Vodafone with more benefits under Rs 499 postpaid plan

India telecom operator Bharti Airtel announced a refreshed Rs 499 Infinity Postpaid plan offering unlimited outgoing calls on national roaming, unlimited local and STD calls and 20 GB 4G / 3G data across India.

Airtel, the largest telecom operator in India, is responding to Vodafone India’s best post-paid plans announced on Tuesday. Vodafone’s refreshed RED post-paid plans are available in select telecom circles only. But Vodafone has several post-paid plans with new advantages for its wireless users in India.

Vodafone is offering 100 SMS, unlimited STD and local calls and free national roaming as part of all the new RED post-paid plans. Vodafone is offering 20 GB data pack for monthly rental of Rs 499.

In addition, all RED post-paid packages come with up to 12 months of free NETFLIX, free access to movies and live TV on Vodafone PLAY, access to over 4,000 of the world’s best magazines with free subscription to MAGZTER and free access to RED SHIELD handset protection feature.

Airtel said the refreshed Rs 499 Infinity Postpaid plan comes with free Airtel Secure device protection plan for smartphones against physical damage and malware. Customers also get free subscription to Wynk Music that offers close to 3 million songs and Airtel TV that offers LIVE TV and thousands of popular shows and movies.

Airtel Postpaid customers also get the Data Rollover feature, which allows them to carry forward their unused data to the next billing cycle, ensuring their data quota never goes waste. Customers can accumulate up to 200 GB check their data usage and balance through MyAirtel app.

In addition, Airtel is offering a new bundled pre-paid pack for Rs 448 offering unlimited local and STD calls, unlimited outgoing calls on national roaming and 70 GB data per month. The pack is available to all customers across India on any 4G, 3G or 2G device.

It will allow customers to do more with their devices on India’s leading smartphone network and always stay connected,” said Ajai Puri, COO (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel.

Both Vodafone and Bharti Airtel are eyeing the subscribers of Reliance Communications that has decided to shut down its voice business.
