Saudi Telecom re-launches business service for enterprises

Mobile service provider Saudi Telecom Company on Sunday announced the re-launch of business service services for enterprises.

As part of the new strategy, STC, which competes with Zain KSA and Mobily, will reintegrate Awal IT Services into the overall STC B2B strategy by re-launching the brand under a new identity, STC Advanced Solutions.

STC in July 2014 said its enterprise business unit revenues increased 6 percent during the 2nd quarter, driven by the 14 percent increase in business sector data services revenues, and the increase in the fixed line revenues.

In addition, STC launched new managed data service plans during the 2nd quarter in order to accommodate business sector needs.

STC net Income for the first half 2014 increased 74 percent, and operating profit increased 17 percent, with major improvements in international operations and continued revenue growth in business sector services.

STC Advanced Solutions offerings will include cloud computing services, managed services, systems integration, and M2M services. STC Advanced Solutions will focus on industries including healthcare, education, oil and gas, financial service, transportation, and other critical government infrastructure sectors.

“STC Advanced Solutions will bring to the market new products and services with industry focus to help enable the knowledge-based economy,” said Khaled Biyari, senior vice president for Technology and Operations of STC, and chairman of STC Advanced Solutions.

STC enterprise business

Announced at GITEX 2014 information and communications technology (ICT) business trade show in Dubai, UAE, the new initiative is part of STC’s strategy to build its presence in the enterprise business targeting the Middle East market.

STC Advanced Solutions, as a subsidiary of STC will accelerate STC’s enterprise growth by providing a range of information and communications technology and services beyond the traditional telecom offerings.

STC Advanced Solutions will benefit from access to STC’s infrastructure; the alliance ecosystem will provide the needed industry solutions with a focus on value creation.

The profit of telecom sector in Saudi Arabia increased 31 percent to SR14.8 billion in 2013 from SR11.3 billion in 2012.

Share of Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to the overall profit growth of the telecom firms stood at 77 percent in 2013 and Mobily 18 percent, Zain KSA 3 percent and Etihad Atheeb Telecom (GO) 2 percent.
