Vodafone launches 4G SIMs in West Bengal

Telecom network operator Vodafone India today announced the availability of 4G SIMs in West Bengal and Sikkim circle.

Mobile users can purchase 4G SIMs at all Vodafone Stores, Vodafone Mini Stores and 10,000+ multi brand outlets in West Bengal and Sikkim. All Vodafone customers in West Bengal and Sikkim can exchange their existing SIM to a 4G ready SIM. Vodafone will launch the 4G services in selected towns of North Bengal and Sikkim.

Customers, who are doing 4G SIM upgrade, will get exclusive free data benefits. Depending on the customer type, any customer will be able to enjoy free 1 GB 4G data on launch of Vodafone 4G services. Customer will be eligible for the above mentioned offer only when they SMS VODA 4G to 199 (toll free) post successful 4G SIM exchange.

How to switch to a 4G ready SIM

# Walk in to any nearby Vodafone Store, Vodafone Mini Store or multi brand outlet and place your request for FREE 4G ready SIM

# To activate the 4G SIM card, use your existing Vodafone number to SMS ‘SIMEX <your 19-20 digit new 4G SIM card number>’ to55199 (this number will be available on the new SIM card/jacket given to you)

# You will receive a response SMS from 55199 with partial SIM number entered

# Send the last 6 digits of the new SIM number to 55199 within 2 hours of receiving the SMS mentioned in the above step

# You will receive a success SMS, post which your 4G ready SIM will be activated within 5-10 minutes

# Replace your old SIM in the handset with the new 4G ready SIM

# Select 4G/LTE as the preferred network  on your mobile handset’s network setting to enjoy 4G services once the service is launched

Vodafone has already launched its high speed 4G services in Kerala, Kolkata, Karnataka, Delhi and Mumbai. Vodafone 4G will be available in major states like Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (East), West Bengal (ROB) by August 2016.
