Wireless subscriber market share in India in November 2017

Telecom operator market share in November 2017 TRAIIndia’s top six telecom operators including Airtel and Reliance Jio have increased their market share in November 2017 as compared with October 2017, TRAI statistics said.

The top mobile service providers increased their market share despite a 1.33 percent monthly drop in India’s wireless subscriber base to 1,162.47 million in November 2017. This indicates that small telecom operators lost considerable subscribers.

TRAI said wireless subscription in urban areas declined 1.86 percent to 664.94 million in November. Wireless subscriptions in rural areas fell 0.63 percent to 497.53 million.

Airtel has increased its wireless subscriber share to 24.91 percent from 24.21 percent showing its dominant position in the Indian mobile market.

Vodafone has enhanced its wireless subscriber share to 18.15 percent from 17.68 percent, retaining its second position.

Idea Cellular has grown its wireless subscriber share to 16.69 percent from 16.2 percent for its third spot.

Reliance Jio has increased its wireless subscriber share to 13.08 percent from 12.39 percent.

BSNL has enhanced its wireless subscriber share to 9.25 percent from 9.03 percent.

Aircel has increased its wireless subscriber share to 7.53 percent from 7.49 percent in the Indian mobile service industry.

Broadband

TRAI said the number of broadband subscribers increased 3.1 percent to 350.70 million in November 2017.

Top broadband service providers are Reliance Jio Infocomm with 152.08 million, Bharti Airtel with 69.38 million, Vodafone with 50.16 million, Idea Cellular with 32.90 million and BSNL with 21.37 million subscribers.

The top five wired broadband service providers are BSNL with 9.43 million, Bharti Airtel with 2.14 million, Atria Convergence Technologies with 1.27 million, MTNL with 0.92 million and Hathway Cable & Datacom with 0.69 million.

The top five wireless broadband service providers are Reliance Jio Infocomm with 152.08 million, Bharti Airtel with 67.24 million, Vodafone with 50.15 million, Idea Cellular with 32.90 million and BSNL with 11.94 million.
