ZTE leads FTTH CPE market with 36% share

ZTE on Thursday said Ovum has ranked the telecom network vendor first in FTTH (fiber to the home) CPE (customer premises equipment) shipments with 36 percent market share in Q2 2014.

ZTE said it has maintained solid growth against other major CPE vendors.

Ovum said that the global broadband CPE sales declined 1 percent to $2.556 billion in Q2 in 2014 against Q1 2014. Global CPE sales volume increased 1 percent sequentially to 49.08 million units.

Unit sales of FTTH CPE increased 11 percent, cable CPE unit sales dipped 3.8 percent, and DSL CPE sales increased 0.4 percent compared with Q1.

Earlier, Infonetics Research said telecom operators are investing heavily in FTTH business in China, Japan, South Korea, US, Europe and the Middle East.

ZTE CPE cumulative shipments have exceeded 0.14 billion units.
