Anritsu extends coverage of ShockLine and Compact VNAs to 43.5 GHz

Anritsu Performance ShockLine MS46500B series
Wireless test and measurement (T&M) vendor Anritsu Company today said it has extended the frequency coverage of its ShockLine Economy Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and ShockLine Compact VNAs to 43.5 GHz.

The VNAs — MS46322A Series ShockLine Economy and MS46122A Series ShockLine Compact — can conduct S-parameter and time domain measurements on RF and microwave passive devices up to 43.5 GHz in a variety of engineering, manufacturing and university testing applications, said Anritsu Company.

ShockLine VNA-on-a-chip technology simplifies the internal VNA architecture at high frequencies, said Anritsu in a statement. The T&M vendor promises that the MS46322A and MS46122A Series offer best-in-class performance for the price.

Anritsu is offering the MS46122A VNAs are available in three frequency ranges of 1 MHz to 8/20/43.5 GHz, while the MS46322A offers six models with coverage of 1 MHz to 4/8/14/20/30/43.5 GHz.

Both instruments have dynamic range of 110 dB at 43.5 GHz and wide IF bandwidths. The MS46122A and MS46322A have noise of less than 0.006 dB at 43.5 GHz and a sweep speed of 220 us/point. The performance of the ShockLine VNAs provides reduced measurement uncertainty and small guard bands when testing cables, connectors, filters, antennas and other passive components.

The 1U high, two-port MS46122A and 2U high, two-port MS46322A Series are for applications requiring a small footprint and remote programming, said Anritsu.

Rugged chassis allow the VNAs to fit into standard rack mount configurations, while support of SCPI command programming and software drivers allow both series to be compatible with the most common programming environments.

The cost effective ShockLine family covers nine different frequency ranges in 1-, 2-, and 4-port models, said Anritsu.

Meanwhile, Anritsu Company introduced a scalar transmission option for its MS46121A PC-controlled ShockLine 1-port USB VNAs that transforms multiple MS46121A models into a simple scalar system.

This new testing option enables scalar measurements to be made between MS46121A VNAs in either a one-to-one (1 to 1) or one-to-many (1 to n) configuration for a variety of applications, including manufacturing test and student education.
