The test and measurement solutions provider said the new partner program is aimed expanding PacketPortal applications used by service providers, enterprise customers and network equipment manufacturers.

PacketPortal is designed to capture network intelligence from previously inaccessible edge devices such as mobile base stations, switches and routers, and remote enterprise office equipment.

Moreover, PacketPortal CONNECT links together partners across the communications industry in an ecosystem focused on delivering superior applications, unmatched domain and solution expertise, and ongoing sales and marketing support.

The online community helps partners and JDSU accelerate the business value of PacketPortal delivered to customers that are challenged with delivering reliable services and applications as the volume of smart mobile devices, applications, video and other high-bandwidth traffic grows.

Meanwhile, Empirix recently joined as a partner to select PacketPortal and the PacketPortal CONNECT program. By leveraging data from PacketPortal-enabled devices, Empirix can enhance its fixed line service assurance solution with additional intelligence for speeding time-to-diagnosis, optimizing services and enriching customer experience.

“We are pleased to further our relationship with JDSU by becoming a new member of the PacketPortal application developer community,” said John D’Anna, president and CEO of Empirix. “Our two companies have a long history of collaborating to bring innovative solutions to market. Now, we are excited by the opportunities created by enhancing the breadth and depth of these solutions with PacketPortal.”

“Partnering with market leading application partners and system integrators has already enabled JDSU to quickly deliver unique solutions to Tier 1 service providers,” said Doug Fantuzzi, vice president in JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement business segment. “The PacketPortal CONNECT program will further enhance our ability to integrate with the growing list of partners vying to leverage PacketPortal’s unique access to edge data to quickly solve carrier problems.”
