Keysight E4990A analyzer offers 10 times speed

Keysight Technologies said its E4990A analyzer will come with an enhanced measurement speed option – offering up to 10 times faster than what’s currently available on the market today.

With the new option priced at $3,105, the low-frequency models of the E4990A are now as fast as the flagship 120-MHz E4990A model. Keysight Technologies will be targeting passive component manufacturers who are looking for reducing cost, and speed in overall test time.

Keysight’s E4990A impedance analyzer is designed for R&D, quality assurance, production and inspection engineers characterizing and evaluating passive electronic components, semiconductor devices and materials. Manufacturers can use the option with the 10 MHz (Opt. 010), 20 MHz (Opt. 020), 30 MHz (Opt. 030) or 50 MHz (Opt. 050) low-frequency options to the E4990A analyzer.

Akira Nukiyama, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Component Test Division, Kobe, said: “With our new enhanced measurement speed option, manufacturers now have the ability to quickly perform the required evaluation and testing in the low frequency region, while also reducing the overall cost-of-test.”

The analyzer has a frequency range of 20 Hz to 10/20/30/50/120 MHz and provides an industry best 0.045 percent (typical) basic accuracy over a wide impedance range, with a 40-V built-in DC bias source. An equivalent circuit analysis function supports seven different multi-parameter models and enables engineers to simulate their own equivalent component parameter values.

Meanwhile, Keysight Technologies recently said Asygn, a company specializing in mixed-signal design and verification, and Kalray, a fabless semiconductor company developing many-core processors, used the Keysight EEsof EDA simulation tool suite to validate PCI Express (PCIe) Gen3 serial links on Kalray’s MPPA TurboCard2.

Engineers can use Kalray TurboCard boards to accelerate many compute intensive applications, such as video encoding, seismic processing, image and signal processing, finance, numerical simulation, and life sciences, said Keysight.
