Indian smartphone maker Lava International has tapped LitePoint, a provider of wireless test solutions, for testing their latest Lava Pixel V2 smartphones.
Lava International has an in-house R&D and product-testing set-up. The Pixel V2 features a quad core processor coupled with 2GB RAM, delivering faster performance and better multitasking between apps. It sports a 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8 MP selfie camera with LED flash.
“The multi-device testing capability offered by the IQxstream was important to us as it enabled the highest testing throughput while maintaining the highest test coverage, ensuring quality and the fastest time-to-market,” said Sanjeev Agarwal, chief manufacturing officer for Lava.
Lava International slipped to 5th place with a sequential drop of 2 percent in their vendor share over Q2 2015, said IDC India recently. Lava shipments fell 24.9 percent quarter on quarter. Its Xolo brand faced tough market conditions in India. Lava has also not moved fast enough to capitalize on the fast growing 4G market. Lava did not diversify their channel strategy in favor of online channels, said IDC India.
Faisal Kawoosa, lead analyst at CMR’s Telecom Practice, said that companies like Intex, Lava and Zen Mobiles continued their focus on achieving growth by tapping the rural telecom markets in India.
LitePoint, a subsidiary of Teradyne, is based in Sunnyvale, California. The company develops wireless test solutions for developers of wireless devices and consumer electronics, contract manufacturers and wireless integrated circuit designers.
