oneM2M selects Spirent for interoperability testing

Spirent IoT testingoneM2M, a global standardization body for M2M and the IoT, has selected Spirent Communications, for testing interoperability and compliance targeting IoT device manufacturers, developers and providers.

The standardization body’s member companies and their engineers will use TTsuite-oneM2M test solution to ensure that their communication devices, services and associated software will pass oneM2M requirements.

The Spirent test solution enables industries and businesses to interoperate with one another. This allows M2M and IoT providers to simplify the management of their devices and applications, to reduce their investments and time-to-market, as well as development and on-boarding costs.

oneM2M, whose members include industrial manufacturers and suppliers, consumer device manufacturers, component suppliers, and telecommunications service providers, aims at establishing a standard for M2M and IoT market to enable interoperability among devices, applications, data collection and storage.

Spirent TTsuite-oneM2M, a test solution for IoT/oneM2M conformance testing, covering all service layer functions, allows electronics engineers to perform fully automated conformance, interoperability and system tests to detect issues at early design stages and along the whole development process.

Jae Moon Park, president of Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) of Korea, oneM2M’s global certification body, said: “oneM2M is pushing standardization to make it easier for stakeholders to partner and interwork with component providers, application developers, solution integrators, data and content owners, and with wireless/wireline connectivity providers.”

Stephan Pietsch, director of Products & Engineering Automotive, TSN & IoT in Cloud & IP at Spirent, said this oneM2M test solution provides a detailed result analysis and is flexible for future adaptations and enhancements.

Meanwhile, Spirent Communications earlier announced that Network World conducted the largest port test of unicast switching capability on a Cisco Nexus 9516 core router switch.  The scale of this test at 50G used 1,024 ports and used Spirent TestCenter to load the switch’s control and data planes at line-rate with full stateful traffic.
