Spirent to supply test solution to Renault for in-vehicle networks

Spirent Communications
Spirent Communications on Monday said automobile major Renault has selected its Automotive Ethernet BroadR-Reach Conformance and Performance test solution to develop in-vehicle networks for connected cars.

Current in-vehicle networks are unable to provide the capacity or transmission speed to implement the new features. Driver assistance features such as 360° video cameras and advanced driver assist systems require new networking, which will provide cost and efficiency benefits to both users and manufacturers.

“Spirent and Renault are collaborating to verify, that, high quality new features can be delivered to vehicle users in a timely manner,” said Pete Nicholson, general manager of Spirent’s Automotive Business Unit.

Alain Couvreux, EE architecture expert leader of Renault, said that the automotive industry needs to embrace new systems to create the connected car.

Spirent’s automotive Ethernet BroadR-Reach conformance and performance test solution is part of a portfolio of solutions for automotive, systems and device manufacturers.
