Franklin Wireless unveils U311 WiMAX USB modem

Franklin Wireless announced the launch of its new U311
single-mode WiMAX USB modem. The U311 is similar to Franklin’s recently
introduced and currently in-market U310 model, but differs from the U310 in
that it operates over the 3.5GHz frequency band, as opposed to the U310’s
2.3GHz and 2.5GHz bands. Because of this, the U311 represents an ideal solution
for WiMAX carriers located within Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe.

This high-speed device is sleek, compact and features a
web-based user interface, a 270-degree rotating hinge, antenna TX diversity and
can be used with an external antenna. The U311 USB modem is available
immediately to Franklin’s customers on a worldwide basis.

“The market release of Franklin’s new U311 WiMAX USB
modem follows on the heels of the successful launch of the U310 model,”
said OC Kim, president of Franklin Wireless.

“We feel the U311 will allow us to penetrate new
markets and expand our sales opportunities beyond the US, Latin American and
Caribbean markets where we have traditionally operated,” Kim added.

The U310 modem supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows
XP, Linux and Mac OS X.
