Nokia Siemens achieves 1.3 Gbps TD-LTE speeds using commercial Flexi base station

Telecom Lead Asia: Telecom gear maker Nokia Siemens
Networks has made a new world record for the 4G mobile broadband technology by
achieving TD-LTE data speeds of 1.3 Gbps using its commercial Flexi base
station hardware during a live demonstration.

Earlier, NSN demonstrated world record TD-LTE data speeds of
close to 1 Gbps using commercial TD-LTE equipment at CTIA 2012.

With this achievement, NSN has become the first vendor to
complete Phase 1 and 2 of China Mobile’s (CMCC) TD-LTE field tests.

The demonstration was achieved by aggregating 60 MHz of
spectrum and using config 2 of 3GPP specification.

The company claims that it leads the industry with its
TD-LTE key performance indicators (KPIs).

Speaking on the achievement, Markus Borchert, president at
Nokia Siemens Networks Greater China said that the record-breaking mobile
broadband speeds, coupled with the successful completion of CMCC’s TD-LTE field
tests, clearly underline Nokia Siemens Networks’ commitment to strengthen the
TD-LTE ecosystem in China.

The telecom gear maker provides full life-cycle
services for TD-LTE, delivered both locally and remotely.

“As the world’s specialist in mobile broadband,
we will continue to drive TD-LTE innovations and commercial deployments across
the globe,” he added.

NSN’s services include technical consulting, network design,
planning and deployment, systems integration, optimization, maintenance and a
complete managed services approach.
