Reliance Jio 4G launch on 27 Dec will be a digital extravaganza

Reliance Jio 4G launch getting readyReliance Jio Infocomm has shared additional details on the 4G LTE launch for its employees on 27 December.

Unfortunately, Reliance Jio Infocomm says it is not inviting journalists to cover the mega launch on Sunday. The invitation is only for its employees.

35,000 employees will be attending the event at the venue in Mumbai.

Reliance Jio will be live streaming the event on the Jio 4G network to 1000-plus locations including Dallas, the U.S. – where another 80,000 to 90,000 RIL employees and their immediate kin would be watching it.

The telecom company will be connecting the locations to the event venue at RCP via Jio’s own high-speed network which would enable two-way video interaction between employees outside Mumbai and Shri MDA.

The company will be offering free Jionet Wi-Fi to 35,000 spectators at the venue in RCP.

Thousands of resources have constructed the venue from the scratch in seven days — using heavy duty machines like earthmovers and cranes, working in shifts round the clock.

The company will have LED screens at strategic locations at the RCP. RIL has sent digital invitations to every RIL employee.

A web portal will allocate seat automatically — no choice of option, and will generate QMS codes to facilitate electronic allocation of seat. Seats are colour-coded and numbered. The portal is allocating car parking, with separate spaces for chauffeur-driven and self-driven cars.

Reliance Jio will be launching 4G services to its employees after receiving the initial BWA (broadband wireless spectrum) in 2010.
