SonicWALL to offer secure Wi-Fi coverage to ekoparty conference in Argentina

SonicWALL, a provider of intelligent network
security and data protection solutions, announced that it will provide
secure and free Wi-Fi access for both organizers and attendees at the
Electronic Knock Out Party (ekoparty) security conference in Buenos Aires,
Argentina, from September 21-23.

SonicWALL is also exhibiting at ekoparty.

The SonicWALL NSA 4500 and eight SonicPoints, including
SonicPoint-N Dual-Radio, SonicPoint-Ne Dual Band and SonicPoint-Ni Dual-Band
will be used during the security conference to provide attendees with easy and
secure Internet access.

SonicWALL Secure wireless security features
include a full set of Wi-Fi protection capabilities to help protect conference
attendees against Wi-Fi attacks.

“We are proud to be a gold sponsor of ekoparty and
we’re very pleased to provide the Wi-Fi infrastructure for the conference again
this year,” said Jean-Marc Catalaa, SonicWALL’s regional manager for the
Southern Cone.

“While today’s Wi-Fi systems can be vulnerable to RF
jamming and denial-of-service attacks, the SonicWALL wireless security solution
was built from the ground up with security in mind. It features many advanced
ways to protect users against wireless hacking attempts,” Catalaa added.

The Electronic Knock Out Party is held annually in Buenos
Aires since 2007. At the conference, security experts from around the world get
together in a relaxed atmosphere to participate in hands-on workshops, attend
and discuss presentations regarding Internet security, technical innovation,
vulnerabilities and the latest tools.

The event was originally held as an underground IT
get-together by hackers but expanded to become the most important technical
conference in Latin America.

A large, record attendance is expected this year.
“We are expecting more than 1,000 attendees in 2011, representing an
increase of over 20percent from last year’s 800 participants,” said
Jeronimo Basaldua, one of the five founders of the event.

“Many attendees are young IT- and security experts.
They need to be connected to the Internet in case they are needed for
emergencies. We selected SonicWALL to provide Wi-Fi during the event because it
adds solid security features to wireless connectivity,” Basaldua added.

SonicWALL recently announced  that Grupo IntecSer, the organizer of 2011 FIBA Americas Championship, has
selected the SonicWALL NSA 4500, TZ100, SonicPoint-N Dual-Radio and the
SonicWALL Global Management System to provide secure Wi-Fi access for
participating athletes, over 300 journalists covering the championship, as well
as event staff. 2011 FIBA Americas Championship is the most important
basketball event on the South American continent.
