T-Mobile to add LG Optimus F3 to push 4G LTE

To strengthen its 4G LTE presence, telecom operator T-Mobile will add the LG Optimus F3 smartphone from August 7.

T-Mobile on Wednesday said there will be special promotion to sell the latest 4G smartphone from LG.

For instance, the Optimus F3 will be available for a limited-time promotion price of $0 down with 24 equal monthly device payments of $101 with T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan at participating T-Mobile retail stores, select retailers and online.

The affordable LTE Android-powered phone will connect to T-Mobile’s 4G HSPA+ and advanced 4G LTE coverage areas.

T-Mobile’s 4G LTE coverage now reaches 157 million people across the U.S. in 116 metropolitan areas.

T-Mobile USA’s Capex (capital expenditure) reached $1.1 billion in the first quarter of 2013. The telecom operator’s main Capex was towards achieving 200 million covered pops with 4G LTE by the end of 2013.

By the end of the year, T-Mobile will be reaching 200 million people in more than 200 metropolitan areas.

The 4-inch Optimus F3 features vivid IPS display, advanced camera, Wi-Fi Calling capabilities, and catalogue of LG’s suite of services such as QuickMemo, QSlide and VuTalk, etc.

As per T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan, Optimus F3 customers can design their plan based on the number of lines and amount of data.

For instance, mobile users can select Unlimited talk, text and Web with up to 500MB of data on its nationwide network for $50 per month (plus taxes and fees) for the first line.

In addition, 4G customers can add another 2GB of data for $10 per month per line or get unlimited 4G data for an additional $20 per month per line. A second phone line can be added for $30 per month and each additional line is $10 per month. There are no caps and no overages on T-Mobile’s network and no restrictive annual service contracts.
