Vodafone 4G in Haryana: main facts to know

Vodafone 4G launch in Haryana
Telecom network operator Vodafone has launched its 4G service – on 1800 MHz spectrum band — at Karnal and Panipat in Haryana.

Vodafone India aims to expand 4G services across Haryana over the next few months. The company did not share its investment plans to enhance the 4G coverage and target locations in Haryana.

4G coverage of Vodafone India is relatively small as compared with Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular. Reliance Jio Infocomm, their main rival in India, is expected to launch 4G this year. However, Jio is yet to announce a formal announcement on the date of the 4G launch. Jio has tied up with several 4G smartphone makers for preview offer.

Vodafone SuperNet 4G services are already available in Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi & NCR and Mumbai. Vodafone is offering 4G on smart devices including Mi-Fi, dongles and 4G enabled phones.

Vodafone India has made investment in fiber backhaul of 100G to ensure better mobile broadband experience to 4G users. The main drawback of 4G services by all the main operators is the fact that customers cannot get seamless 4G coverage because telecoms are making investment in small areas in big towns.

“Vodafone’s global expertise and experience of launching 4G across 20 countries gives us a better understanding of this technology and the needs of the 4G customer,” said Vodafone India CEO Sunil Sood.

Vodafone will launch SuperNet 4G services in UP (E), Gujarat and West Bengal and in 1,000 towns across the country by end of the year. The nine circles of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Gujarat, UP (E) and West Bengal, together contribute to just under 70 percent of Vodafone India’s data revenues.

“Haryana is a leadership market for Vodafone India and as the leading telecom service provider, our over 5.5 million customers have a lot to look forward to,” said Mohit Narru, business head – Haryana, Vodafone India.
