Vodafone 4G to reach select areas of Delhi in December

Telecom network operator Vodafone India will launch its 4G LTE services in Delhi NCR by December 2015.

“Key corridors of Delhi/NCR will be part of the first wave of the 4G roll-out, which will be launched across the circle in a phased manner,” said Vodafone.

Vodafone does not share specific details on the anticipated speed of its 4G network and the number of locations, where 4G will be available in the initial phase of the launch, in Delhi.

Reliance Jio Infocomm is also gearing up to launch 4G in Delhi. The 4G coverage of Bharti Airtel, the first Indian telecoms to launch 4G, has reached 300 plus towns across the country.

Vodafone has started testing of 4G services. Vodafone has made investments in fiber / backhaul to increase the internet connectivity.

Delhi NCR with around 30 percent of data revenues is one of the top data markets for Vodafone in India and is growing at around 50 percent.

Vodafone India’s 4G services will be on the 1800 MHz band.

Vodafone has invested more than Rs 350 crore to upgrade the existing voice and data network and installed more than 550 sites in the last 6 months in Delhi NCR.

The other focus areas of Vodafone includes network upgradation, the radio network modernization, improvement in switching systems and charging platforms.
