MWC Shanghai: ZTE unveils 5G terminal devices for diverse use cases

ZTE 5G Terminal Devices Debut at MWC Shanghai 2019ZTE today demonstrated a series of diversified 5G terminal devices including the 5G Smartphone, 5G Indoor Router, 5G Outdoor Router, 5G Mobile Wi-Fi Router, 5G Ethernet Box and 5G Module for the first time at MWC Shanghai 2019.

The products cover a wide range of industry application scenarios including smart grid, intelligent manufacturing, live broadcasting and more, and cover individual application scenarios, including personal hotspots and home broadband.

At the event, ZTE is also demonstrating diverse application scenarios with the ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G and the ZTE 5G Indoor Router MC801 under a live 5G network.

The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G was announced in China, Germany, UAE, Finland and Austria in the first half of 2019. It is recognized as the first 5G flagship smartphone to reach peak download data rate of 2Gbps, ZTE said.

“The issuance of 5G licenses in China is the starting gun for the commercial deployment of 5G in the domestic market. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G is proceeding after the indispensable, national approval in China and is expected to be available in July. Consumers will be able to purchase this 5G flagship smartphone for the very first time”, said Xu Feng, senior vice president at ZTE Corporation and President of Mobile Device Division.

Some of the showcases powered by these devices include AR, cloud gaming, 4K video and ultra-fast speeds via 5G, as well as 5G+8K  live broadcast, all-round 5G video analysis, 5G patrol robot, cloud XR remote cooperation and Class VR (education).

ZTE also displayed its second-generation 5G Indoor Router MC801A, with peak download data rate 5.36Gbps which could be achieved via the EN-DC (E-UTRA/NR Dual Connectivity) technology under the Sub 6GHz network.

ZTE also debut the Mesh Router MF18A and Y2000 RSU. Compared with traditional routers and Wi-Fi amplifiers, the ZTE Mesh Router MF18A covers a wider range and promises higher speeds, which easily solves Wi-Fi networking problems in large-scale indoor environments, the company claims.

The Y2000 RSU implements dynamic real-time information exchange and the interaction of vehicles, improving the safety and traffic efficiency, and facilitating the vehicle-road coordination.

Moreover, ZTE will carry out 5G remote driving and C-V2X-based vehicle-road coordination scenario demonstrations at its Shanghai R&D Center during MWC Shanghai 2019.

In terms of vehicle networking, ZTE has realized mass production and delivery of pre-installed 4G car gauge modules and T-Box products in China and abroad. ZTE is also organizing tests for the C-V2X-based RSU and OBU products.

In October 2019, ZTE will cooperate with partners in the V2X interconnection application demonstration, in a bid to boost the development of autonomous driving and vehicle-road coordination, and to promote the large-scale application deployment of the C-V2X industry, the company said.

In the future, ZTE will actively participate in the construction of the new 5G ecosystem in cooperation with nreal, Qualcomm Technologies and Netease AR, aiming to enhance a person’s digital life by providing consumers with multi-screen sharing, large-screen expansion, holographic viewing and other practical functions.
