T-Mobile offers $750 to Comcast Xfinity customers as termination fees

T-Mobile US announced it will be offering $750 to Comcast Xfinity customers in order to break their Comcast contract.

T-Mobile is also offering 5G Internet for $25 per month for a limited time this holiday season, as part of the promotion called Make Xfinity Your Ex. T-Mobile’s 5G Internet is offering unlimited T-Mobile Home and Business Internet – targeting unhappy Xfinity customers.

Comcast has raised Xfinity internet prices by 3.8 percent.

Comcast’s Cable Communications business reported 2.6 percent increase in revenue to $16.5 billion in the third quarter of 2022, driven by increases in broadband, business services, wireless and advertising revenue. Comcast’s broadband revenue increased 5.7 percent to $6,135 million during the third quarter of 2022.

Comcast’s Cable Communications’ customers decreased 21,000 to 34.4 million in the third quarter of 2022. Residential customers decreased by 26,000 and business customers increased by 5,000. Total broadband customer net additions were 14,000, total video customer net losses were 561,000 and total voice customer net losses were 316,000.

T-Mobile is driving circles around Comcast to educate customers. A mobile billboard truck is circling Comcast’s HQ in Philadelphia.

“At a time when Comcast is locking customers into contracts and increasing their costs, the Un-carrier is here to provide people with a new option that’s free from contracts, packed with value and finally giving Big Internet some real competition,” said Mike Katz, President of Marketing, Innovation & Experience at T-Mobile.

More than half of T-Mobile’s two million Home Internet customers come from Big Cable companies like Comcast. T-Mobile Home Internet customers give the service a Net Promoter Score (NPS) – a measure of customer satisfaction – higher than fiber providers and 30 points higher than cable and other internet services.
