Videocon Telecom targets Rs 1,658 crore revenue

The company recently exited from its mobile service provider business by selling spectrum to Bharti Airtel.

The existing business including broadband and FTTH business in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh; wholesale ILD carrier business; smart solutions; tower business and security and surveillance will contribute revenue of INR 1358 crore.

New business including retailing of CCTV Cameras; smartphone accessories smart homes and city solutions and mobile VAS will contribute revenue of INR 300 crore.

The company is the broadband market leader in Punjab and aims to maintain its revenue and customer market share (RMS & CMS).

Videocon plans to expand its footprint in the circle by adding another 15 percent fibre this year in addition to its existing 6000 KM fibre.

“Maintaining our leadership position in Punjab, we aspire to increase our RMS from by another 4 percent by 2020,” said Arvind Bali, CEO of Videocon Telecom.

Videocon Telecom’s wholesale ILD carrier business will continue to be among the top 5 players in India.

Videocon Telecom has PAN India switches and 311 International carrier connects.

Videocon Edge, the B2B Enterprise Communication solutions, is providing enterprise communication solutions including Bulk SMS, out bound dialer / interactive voice response, toll free solution, shortcode and longcode solution etc.

The size of the Indian enterprise communication solutions market is estimated to be approximately Rs 1,600 crore.

“Our ambition is to be among the Top 3 players in the market by 2020. We will be providing various industry first solutions to our customers including beacons for proximity marketing and chatbots etc. to create differentiation and value addition to our corporate customers,” Arvind Bali said.

The security and surveillance market is a Rs 3,500 crore market and expected to grow by a CAGR of 20 percent year on year.

“Other than the large projects, we will also be focusing on the fast growing retail CCTV market which is expected to be approximately 25 percent to 30 percent of the overall Video surveillance market. We will roll out our own CCTV brand,” Arvind Bali said.

Smartphone accessories market is an approx Rs 8,000 crore market in India, and likely to grow by 20 percent.
