Telecom Lead India: In a bid to compete with cable TV operators during the Cable Digitization drive, DTH player Sun Direct announced a major scheme during the festival season.

In a promotional tie-up with Spicejet, Sun Direct will give out discount vouchers upto 100 percent of the value of their Sun Direct DTH purchase to its customers.

During the Cable Digitization drive,  India’s cable TV digitization initiatives have achieved 87 percent progress by cable TV and DTH operators. Over 80 percent cable TV digitization has been achieved in the four metros – Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. This figure rises up to 87 percent if the progress made by Direct-To-Home (DTH) is also taken into account.

Spicejet and Sun Direct are promoted by Kalanidhi Maran and family.

These vouchers can be redeemed against Spicejet tickets. The offer is open to both new and existing subscribers on specific purchases and recharges between 17th October 2012 and 13th November 2012.

While the offer ends on 13th November 2012, customers can redeem the Spicejet discount vouchers anytime till 20th March 2013 on Spicejet flights, flying from and to any destination between 13th Jan and 31st March 2013.

By buying Sun DTH HD connection worth Rs 2940, users will get discount voucher worth Rs 3000 off on Spicejet tickets.

On purchase of Sun DTH connection worth Rs 1590, DTH users will get discount voucher worth Rs 1590 off on Spicejet tickets.

Sun DTH connection worth Rs 1990 will make consumers eligible for a discount voucher worth Rs 2000 off on SpiceJet tickets.

Existing subscribers can take 8 month Cinema plus pack worth Rs 999 and get discount voucher worth Rs 1000 on Spicejet tickets.

Users can buy 7 month Cinema plus pack worth Rs 997 and get a discount voucher worth Rs. 1000 on Spicejet tickets

For a 12 month South Value pack worth Rs 1499, users will get a discount voucher worth Rs 1500 on SpiceJet tickets.
