Cisco in pact with TSSC to offer skills development in Indian telecom sector

Cisco has entered into an agreement with Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) to support the training of over 80,000 youth in India over the next 18 months.

“We have entered into a MoU with TSSC to support the training of over 80,000 youth in India over the next 18 months. As part of this initiative, we will deploy the Cisco Education Enabled Development (CEED) platform – our cloud based video delivered solution to empower rural India through efficient delivery of skill development courses” said Aravind Sitaraman, president Inclusive Growth, Cisco India.

In addition, TSSC in association with World Trade Center Bangalore, Cisco, ITI and UTL, organized the Skills Conclave to promote skills development for the telecom sector.

TSSC is promoted by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), Indian Cellular Association (ICA), Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) with Governing body Members including DEITY, IIM and NSDC.

The industry body, which will infuse Rs 80 core through Government support, plans to skill 5 million people by 2022.

SP Kochhar, CEO, Telecom Sector Skill Council handed over Industry Partnership Affiliations to Cisco, ITI and UTL and Skill Development Partnership Affiliation to ITI, four Cisco Affiliated Training Partners and three Training Partners with their base in Bangalore. TSSC also signed four Industry MoUs for the promotion of Skills Development.
