Digital and telecom revolution at Convergence India 2012

Telecom Lead India: Convergence India 2012 has been
welcomed by several exhibitors and participants.


Convergence India 2012 kicked off with the theme – India
Goes Digital. Several people liked the theme since India will focus more on
broadband and broadcasting in coming months.


However, several leading players such as Huawei, ZTE,
Nokia Siemens, etc did not participate at the event. Ericsson put up a stall
for its television division, a part of multimedia offerings.


Keeping pace with the changing industry trends, the expo
has a special focus on the broadcasting sector. A dedicated conference session
titled Roadmap for Digitization offered an opportunity to meet around 4,000
cable operators.



With the government’s approval to digitize cable TV, the Indian broadcasting
sector is set to witness structural changes in the coming years. This move will
benefit the consumers and broadcasting industry. We are a system integrator and
meeting many clients here,” said Arun Kaushik, country sales manager, Big Box
Technology.


Telvass Systems is exhibiting its antenna products at
Convergence India 2012. Today is the first day. We are expecting more quality
crowd on Thursday. The event is well organized,” said Sajeev Katti, executive
director of Telvass Systems, a Bangalore-based company.

 

Mihir Joshi, vice president, Sai InfoSystem, said: We
are work with BSNL and other clients. Convergence India platform gives us a big
platform for networking with our clients.”


Eurostar Communications is exhibiting its products at
Convergence India 2012. We interacted with several prospective clients today.
It is a good show,” Mani Nair, associate vice president, Eurostar
Communications, Dubai.


Hughes Communications which is focusing on Indian VSAT
industry is excited about VSAT opportunities. We are doing well in India. We
recently won three industry awards and very active in the market place,” said
Ebinson Sam, Hughes Communications.


Aniara Communications is showcasing its products. DS
Govindrajan, president, Aniara Communications, said the company is excited to
tap market opportunities.
