FCC chairman Julius Genachowski to deliver address at 2011 mHealth Summit

Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
Chairman Julius Genachowski will deliver an address during the keynote luncheon
on the second day of the 2011 mHealth Summit.

Under his leadership, the Commissioner has
focused the agency on the communications platform of today and the future.
Genachowski has made it the Commission’s mission to promote innovation and
investment across this platform and harness the power of communications
technology to grow our economy, create jobs, enhance U.S. competitiveness,
empower consumers, and unleash broad opportunity and a higher quality of life
for all Americans.

“We are honored to have the FCC
Chairman join our keynote speakers at the mHealth Summit,” said Richard
Scarfo, director of the mHealth Summit at the F NIH.

Of the six themed tracks throughout the
2011 mHealth Summit, those that dovetail best with Genachowski’s participation
include both policy and technology. Each of these tracks has multiple
sub-tracks throughout the concurrent sessions, such as “Mapping Mobile
Health Regulatory Experiences for Small and Large Companies” and “Deployment of mHealth and System Infrastructure Implications.”

The mHealth Summit has become the global
convener of the mHealth ecosystem, bringing together leaders from across the
world to encourage dialogue and advance collaboration in the use of mobile
technology to improve health outcomes.

This year’s expanded program offers an
analysis of the critical issues surrounding mobile health in the areas of
Technology, Research, Policy, Business and Finance. Visionary keynote
speakers, including Genachowski, will headline the event, in addition to an
agenda featuring four super sessions and 60 concurrent sessions across 12
tracks.
