Mindspeed to showcase small cell base station technology at Mobile Asia Expo

Telecom Lead at Mobile Asia Expo 2012: Small cell base
station vendor Mindspeed Technologies will exhibit a variety of small cell base
station systems at Mobile Asia Expo.


The company will showcase a Transcede-based LTE small
cell reference design with over-the-air (OTA) access to multiple commercial
terminals.


Moreover, Mindspeed will also demonstrate a TD-SCDMA
femtocell, as part of China Mobile’s commercial deployment (connected to the
CMCC network).


It will also the new T2200 and T3300 dual-mode small cell
SoC reference designs.


Mindspeed claims that it has 70 percent market share of
the high-speed packet access (HSPA) market.


The company has 25 LTE design engagements incluidng KT,
Juni, Powerwave Technologies, AirWalk Communications and Tektelic
Communications.


In addition, the company has over 40 WCDMA design
engagements and six different TD-SCDMA femtocell and picocell customer
products.


Mindspeed has already demonstrated support for both
HSPA and LTE in its small cell SoCs. It has also showcased both FDD LTE and
TD-LTE solutions.


Mindspeed also announced its participation in the Small
Cell World Summit in London on June 26-28, 2012. Doug Pulley, chief technology
officer of the company’s wireless business unit, will speak on the topic –
Small Cell Architecture for RAN Evolution and will discuss data traffic
models, deployment modeling, new strategies for network architecture, SoC
architecture and the significance of dual-mode solutions during network
buildouts.
