ADTRAN to provide virtual WLAN infrastructure for IDC Asian Financial Services Congress

By Telecom Lead Team: ADTRAN, a provider of networking
solutions, is offering its Bluesocket virtual wireless LAN (vWLAN) solution for
IDC Asian Financial Services Congress 2012 – Singapore to access network
services.

During the event, IDC Financial Insights will showcase a
fresh line-up of solutions, including ADTRAN’s Bluesocket vWLAN.

ADTRAN’s Bluesocket virtual wireless LAN solution is a
disruptive technology that enables enterprise customers to securely and
cost-effectively scale up to support the multitude of devices demanding mobile
wireless service,” said Brian Efimetz, general manager Asia-Pacific
ADTRAN.

The company said that its Bluesocket vWLAN was selected
because of its unique control plane which is both centralized and virtualized.
Also, its centralized user control and device management enables the deployment
of consistent network security and network access policy across all access
points.

The solution’s centralized control brings ease of
management while distributed enforcement brings the highest level of security.
The solution in use at the conference will support the hundreds of exhibitors
and conference participants even if each participant has multiple Wi-Fi enabled
devices.

Furthermore, vWLAN can scale up to support 48,000 users
on the same platform used at the conference.

The company added that vWLAN at the conference will be
operating in High Availability mode with dual virtual control instances. Along
with vWLAN, ADTRAN is providing the PoE LAN switches to power the access points
as well as the necessary cabling, mounting, and support.

Recently, Otelco Mid-Missouri, a division of Otelco, implemented ADTRAN’s Optical Networking
Edge (ONE) solution in its existing Total Access 5000 network infrastructure to
enable high bandwidth transport capabilities.
